Tropical Sunrise Mocktail (Printable Version)

Layered passionfruit, orange and pineapple mocktail with grenadine for a sunrise effect—bright and ready in 10 minutes.

# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit juices

01 - Passionfruit juice — 1/2 cup (fresh or bottled)
02 - Orange juice — 3/4 cup (freshly squeezed preferred)
03 - Pineapple juice — 1/4 cup

→ Sweetener

04 - Grenadine syrup — 1 tablespoon

→ Garnish & extras

05 - Ice cubes — as needed
06 - Orange slices — 2 slices
07 - Fresh mint sprigs — 2 sprigs (optional)
08 - Passionfruit pulp — optional, to garnish

# How-To Steps:

01 - Fill two tall glasses with ice cubes, leaving space for the juices and syrup.
02 - Divide the juices between the glasses: pour 1/4 cup passionfruit juice into each glass, followed by 3/8 cup orange juice, then 2 tablespoons pineapple juice per glass.
03 - Slowly drizzle 1/2 tablespoon grenadine syrup down the inside edge of each glass so it sinks and then gently rises to form a layered sunrise effect.
04 - Top each glass with an orange slice, a sprig of mint and a small spoonful of passionfruit pulp if desired.
05 - Serve immediately without stirring to preserve the layers; provide a straw or bar spoon for guests who prefer to stir.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The way the colors separate looks far fancier than the effort it takes (trust me, people will compliment your bartending skills).
  • Whenever I serve it, someone always grins at the first sweet sip—it's basically bottled sunshine without the alcohol.
02 -
  • If you rush the grenadine pour, it mixes too fast and you lose the layered look—patience really does pay off here.
  • Once I made it with room-temperature juice, and the ice melted way too quickly—now, I always chill everything first.
03 -
  • Always use clear glasses to show off your layers, or no one will believe you made that sunrise effect yourself.
  • Stirring right before drinking brings all those flavors together for the perfect blend of sweet, tart, and tropical notes.
