01 - 2 large store-bought or homemade flatbreads
02 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
03 - 1 clove garlic, minced

04 - 2 pork sausages (sweet or spicy Italian), casings removed
05 - 1 large Honeycrisp apple, thinly sliced
06 - 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
07 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
08 - 1/4 cup crumbled goat cheese or feta
09 - 2 tablespoons fresh thyme or sage leaves, roughly chopped (optional)
→ Hot Honey
10 - 1/3 cup honey
11 - 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
# How-To Steps:
01 - Set the oven to 425°F (220°C) to preheat.
02 - Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until browned, about 5 to 6 minutes.
03 - Combine honey and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over low heat and warm for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
04 - Brush flatbreads lightly with olive oil and place on a baking sheet. Evenly sprinkle mozzarella cheese over each flatbread, then top with cooked sausage, sliced apple, red onion, and crumbled goat cheese or feta. Add herbs if desired.
05 - Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until cheese is melted and edges are golden brown.
06 - Remove flatbreads from oven, drizzle generously with the prepared hot honey, slice, and serve immediately.
